A Merry Handmade Christmas

It's so exciting, we are nearing our First birthday at Red Brick.  Last year when we opened it was just before christmas but we were so frantically trying to get over the hurdle of actually opening that we didn't get much of a chance to have a bit of Christmas fun.

This year is different though, we are settled, having an awesome time, looking forward to 2012 and getting into the Christmas spirit.

We have been decorating the shop for this festive season but we didn't want to go down the standard expected path of santas and tinsle and the things you see in every shop.  We also wanted a christmas display that helps share our Christmas 2011 message... which is support handmade this Christmas and Small Business.

I got out the jigsaw and whipped up a giant gingerbread man for the window while Steph the creative genius Wallace whipped up this most amazing Christmas tree and christmas decorations :)

The problem I have is keeping these in the shop and not taking them home for my own christmas tree decorations.

The Red Brick Christmas tree makes me smile each time I see it :)

A Close up of the Amazing tree. We heart handmade :)

The giant ginger bread man...2.3 mtrs high and desperate for you to give him a wave, beep at him as you are driving past or come in and say hi.

Do you have any hand made plans this Christmas? Planning on making some gifts for friends or family perhaps or maybe just buy hand made gifts? We'd love to hear about your festive season crafty, arty plans. By Golly be Jolly, it's a fun time of year :)
